WINNING MECHANICS


  • The winning mechanics are designed to give an equal chance to all participants, regardless of when they joined, and to give more weight to the number of reviews and average rating:

  • 1. We find the average number of daily reviews by dividing the total number of reviews by the number of days the home has been up for voting.

  • 2. We multiply the average daily reviews by the total length of the contest period (34 days) to get the total number of reviews the home would receive over 34 days. This helps make it fair for contestants who joined later in the contest.

  • 3. We multiply the result from step 2 by the average rating of the home to get the final score. The final score takes into account both the number of reviews and the average rating the home received, assuming if that everyone joined on the first day of the contest.
